Appearing totally unharmed in the footage, al-Halqi was reportedly discussing economic matters with members of the Syrian cabinet, reports Xinhua.
Damascus, April 25 (IANS) The Syrian government said Thursday it would take the required steps to safeguard the country's oil resources. The Oil ministry would take all the necessary measures to protect the country's oil resources, following the recent EU's decision to buy oil from the Syrian opposition in rebel-held areas in Syria, reported Xinhua citing Syrian Oil Minister Slaiman Abbas. Damascus, March 20 (IANS) Syria has rubbished reports accusing it of carrying out air strike on Lebanese territories, Xinhua reported. Describing the reports as "false and absolutely untrue", Syrian foreign ministry Tuesday in a statement said: "Some countries espousing anti-Syria policies via arming and financing terrorist groups circulated the false news." The ministry also reiterated Syria's respect of Lebanon's sovereignty and "its keenness on the security and stability of brotherly Lebanon". The statement came a day after several media outlets reported that Syria carried out an air strike against rebel positions near the country's borders with Lebanon.
