Agartala, May 19 (IANS) Three newspaper employees, including a manager, were killed by two unidentified assailants at their office here Sunday, police said. "Two armed assailants came by a motorcycle and stormed into the office of the 'Dainik Ganadoot' (a vernacular daily) and stabbed to death proof reader Sujit Bhattacharjee, 32, and seriously wounded manager Ranjit Chowdhury, 60, and driver Balaram Ghosh, 40, both of whom died on way to hospital," Deputy Superintendent of Police (Central) Rajendra Datta told reporters. The editor-cum-proprietor of "Dainik Ganadoot", Sushil Chowdhury, who lives in the same building, told police that the assailants allegedly wanted to kill him but they killed the manager in a case of mistaken identity
Northeast railway projects will be delayed
Agartala, May 18 (IANS) Due to lack of funds, several national railway projects in southern Assam, Tripura and other northeastern states would be delayed by a year, an official said here Saturday. "Railway officials at a meeting here told Tripura government (officials) that the gauge conversion works, extension of railway lines in southern Assam, Tripura and other northeastern states would be delayed by a year due to scarcity of funds," a Tripura official told reporters.
Manipur, Mizo groups want Inner Line Permit reintroced

"In the first phase of our agitation, we will not allow non-Manipuri people to enter Manipur between June 1 and June 5 if the ILP system is not reintroduced by May 31," Sapamacha Jadumani, spokesperson of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit (JCILP), told reporters in Imphal.
