Puffed Indian Bread (Puri) Recipe

Ingredients        

  •  1 cup corn flour
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 2tbsp semolina
  • 4tbsp ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • 2tbs finely chopped spring onions (Use only the green portion)
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Honey as required

Preparation        

Sieve the corn flour, wheat flour and salt together.  Mix in semolina and spring onions.  Gently add the ghee, little by little using fingers.  Add just enough water to form smooth dough.  Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a round puri. Heat oil for deep frying and fry each of the puris in hot oil till golden brown. Serve hot with a little honey on top.
