Banana Balls

Ingredients

  • ½ kg fully ripe bananas
  • ½ cup grated coconut
  • 5tbsp sugar
  • ½tsp cardamom powder
  • 3tbs roasted split cashew nuts
  • 2tbs raisins
  • 4tbs plain flour
  • 2tbs ghee
  • Coconut oil to fry

Preparation

Steam bananas and peel off the skin. Mash the bananas into fine paste. Heat ghee in a pan and add sugar, cardamom powder, coconut, cashew nuts, and raisins. Mix well and sauté on low flame for 5 minutes.  Remove from heat. Shape the banana paste into small round balls. Fill in each ball with the coconut mixture.  Mix plain flour with little water in a bowl to make a smooth thin paste. Add a pinch of salt. Dip the banana balls into this mix.  Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the balls until golden on all sides.  Serve hot.
