Jalpaiguri, July 10 (ANI): Lack of infrastructure and medical aid to football players at the grassroot level led to another death on the pitch. Twenty three year old Mahesh Thapa died after colliding with the opposing team s goalkeeper, while playing a local tournament in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. Postmortem reports later revealed that Thapa suffered a cardiac arrest. Thapa, was rushed to a local hospital after collapsing on the field, but was denied admission as all beds at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were already occupied.
