Chandigarh, July 2 (ANI): Justifying the action of banning the five IPL cricketers for their involvement in spot fixing, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said that it has taken action against the players only after the charges were proved, to keep the faith of millions of people in cricket intact. Joint Secretary of BCCI, Anurag Thakur asserted this while interacting with mediapersons in Chandigarh. All of the players were exposed in a sting operation conducted by television channel ‘India TV’. The footage showed one cricketer negotiating a fee for bowling a ‘no ball’, while another said he received under the table payments above his contracted fee.
