New Delhi, June 28 (ANI): Veteran Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee today filed his nomination for the coveted post of the president in Parliament. Mukherjee filed the papers in presence of the top brass of UPA including Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. However, UPA ally Trinamool Congress was not present at the venue. Pranab Mukherjee’s challenger PA Sangma, who is supported by the Bharatiya Janata Party is also likely to file his nomination today in the Presidential race in which the ruling alliance is set for a runaway victory. After filing his nomination, Mukherjee expressed gratitude to the parties who extended their support for his candidature in the presidential elections.
