Police in Anantapur town searched the house of Paritala Sunita, a TDP legislator and widow of slain former minister Paritala Ravi, in the early hours of Wednesday. Islamabad, Jan 2 (IANS) Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (Fazl-ur-Rehman) (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has alleged that an attempt is being made to put off general elections due in Pakistan in February-March in the country. Washington, Jan 1 (IANS) More than 46,000 people have died in Syria in the conflict between the forces of President Bashar al-Assad and the rebels, said an opposition group Tuesday. Of all people killed in the civil war, 85 percent of them -- 39,520 -- died in 2012, according to the opposition Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, CNN reported. In 2011, 6,548 lost their lives, representing 14 percent of the total 46,068 deaths.
