New Delhi, Jan 11 (IANS) A day after an 80-year-old woman was found smothered to death
in her house in east Delhi, police Wednesday remained clueless even after quizzing people known to her.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Prabhakar said that all people known to victim, Sarojini Barthwal, were being interrogated after their identification but they were yet to get any clue.
‘The process of interrogation is on. We hope the accused will be caught soon,’ he said.
Barthwal was found dead in her house in Mayur Vihar around 11.30 a.m. Tuesday by a domestic help.
‘Blood was oozing out from her nose and some scratch marks were visible on her face when the domestic help found her,’ he said.
‘The domestic help informed the neighbours, who made a call to police,’ said Prabhakar.
The woman had been living alone since the death of her husband, B.S. Barthwal. Her only son, Hemendra Singh Barthwal, lives in Indirapuram in Ghaziabad.
