Mumbai/ New Delhi/Patna/ Chennai, May 24 (ANI): Cutting across party lines, political leaders expressed outrage at the government’s ‘unilateral’ decision to increase prices of petrol by 7.50 rupees including taxes and called for its immediate rollback. Condemning the price hike in strongest terms, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar called it an unjustified and unbelievable decision. Questioning the move, CPM senior leader, Sitaram Yechury alleged that one of the direct beneficiaries of the petrol price hike would be the government itself. Slamming the decision, Janata Dal United (JD U) president Sharad Yadav lambasted the government for not consulting other parties before allowing the increase in petrol prices.
