London, Aug 1 (IANS) India’s Parupalli Kashyap Wednesday became the first Indian to enter the men’s singles quarterfinals of Olympics badminton beating Sri Lankan Niluka Karunaratne over three games 21-14, 15-21, 21-9 in the London Games at the Wembley Arena here.
The previous best performance was by Dipankar Bhattacharjee, who entered the third round at the 1992 Barcelona Games.
