Odisha govt. gives into Maoists demands

Bhubaneswar, April 05 (ANI): The Odisha government has agreed to fulfill the demands of the Maoists and decided to release 27 prisoners in exchange for the safe release of the BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka and the Italian tourist Bosusco Paolo. Giving in to the Maoists demands, Odisha chief minister, Naveen Patnaik, said that the state government has decided to release 15 prisoners including 8 Maoists for the release of Hikaka. Clarifying the state government’s stand over Bosusco’s release, Patnaik said the government had agreed to free four persons named by Maoist appointed mediators in discussions.
