Maoists damage trucks; threaten drivers in Bihar

Jamui, March 23 (ANI): Continuing their attacks on the civilians and government institutions, Maoist ultras set ablaze trucks and threatened the drivers in Jamui district of Bihar. During their two day strike to protest against the arrest of the top Maoist leaders, they torched mobile towers and damaged trucks. Another truck driver said that they held them as hostages and seized their mobile phones. Despite strong measures initiated by the central government to crush the ultras, the Maoist insurgency has gripped nearly one third of the country in its violent tentacles, spreading into the interiors of 20 of India’s 28 states.
