Ranchi, Feb 21 (IANS) Jharkhand has cancelled the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) of 15 power and steel companies which failed to start work in the state, an official said Tuesday.
Chief Minister Arjun Munda gave his consent for the cancellation, an official from his office told IANS.
He said a high-level review of the existing MoUs took place in December. A total of 28 companies were found not working seriously on their MoUs.
Of these, 13 sought another three months to start work.
The chief minister has also asked the central government to cancel the allocated coal blocks and mines of the 15 companies whose MoU have been cancelled.
