Hindu, Muslims come together to seek blessings at Ajmer Sharif

Ajmer, June 4 (ANI): The Dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti at Ajmer is one of the most revered shrines of the country and it presents a perfect example of religious harmony. Recently, the annual “Urs” marking the 800th death anniversary of the Sufi saint, affectionately called Khawaja Ghareeb Nawaz by the devotees, was observed at the “Dargah” or shrine. People from different religions thronged the shrine to pay obeisance to the saint. Legend has that in 1236 AD, the saint entered his cell to pray in seclusion for six days, at the end of which he died. Since then Urs has been celebrated for six days every year.
