Cairo, March 12 (IANS) An Egyptian military court Sunday acquitted an army doctor of charges of forcing a virginity test on a female detainee last year, official MENA news agency reported.
Activist Samira Ibrahim filed the case against the doctor claiming she was forced to undergo a virginity test when she was jailed in a military prison in March 2011, said MENA.
Ibrahim had been arrested along with 34 others for attacking vital installations, using molotov cocktails and beating security personnel during a protest in central Cairo’s Tahrir Square, reported Xinhua.
