Beijing, April 15 (IANS) China will be draw up a plan to identify and protect the former residences of the country’s notable figures, a media report said Sunday.
Residences of important people are not only valuable historical and cultural resources, but also spiritual fortunes, said Li Yaoshen, head of the policy and regulation bureau of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage.
“However, it is a complicated issue that involves construction, urban planning, cultural relics and many other departments,” he added.
According to Li, some residences, after repeated restoration work, no longer appear as they once did, and many renowned figures had several houses in one or more places.
Li urged the cultural relics and heritage departments to map out the residences of famous people for their protection, China Daily reported.
