Dubai gives permit for 23,000 buildings

Dubai, Feb 22 (IANS/WAM) The Dubai Municipality last year gave permission for the construction of 23,243 buildings in the emirate. Yusuf Abdullah, acting director of the Buildings Department, said: "Total construction permissions include 12,952 private villas, 1,366 commercial villas, 2,182 industrial buildings, 2,227 facilities, 3,339 multi-storey buildings and 1,117 floor additions." The department issued 2,421 completion certificates, while it also demolished 197 sites during the year
