Cotton traders welcome lifting cotton export ban

Rajkot, May 05 (ANI): Cotton traders in Rajkot appreciated the initiative taken by the central government of lifting the ban on cotton exports but expressed concern over the delay in notification. Anand Popat, Secretary, Saurashtra Ginners Association (SGA), told reporters that lifting of the ban has increased the cost of the cotton in the domestic markets. Recently, Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma had said that India would allow cotton exports without any restriction and would lift a ban imposed last month. He had also said that the export situation would be reviewed on a fortnightly basis.
