Amidst overwhelming criticism by the entire opposition on his decision to allow MLAs to purchase cars worth up to Rs. 20 lakhs, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav withdrew his offer to the state’s MLAs that they could use constituency funds to buy a car.
