NHRC questions sterilising women unhygienically
Kolkata, Feb 11 (IANS) Days after over 100 women were sterilised in a single day at a health camp under unhygienic conditions, the NHRC Monday issued a notice to the West Bengal government. On the basis of a media report and a complaint, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) issued notice to the principal secretary, health, West Bengal, and to the district magistrate of Malda, returnable in six weeks. The complainant said that over 100 women were sterilised by two doctors in a day without ensuring basic healthcare facilities.

New Delhi, Feb 11 (IANS) Over a hundred Indian and Tibetan students from Delhi University (DU) participated in a marathon here Monday to celebrate the beginning of the 100th year of the Tibetan proclamation of independence.
