Beijing, Jan 6 (IANS) Over 1,700 people died of infectious diseases in China in December, the health ministry said Friday.
It said 1,757 people had died of infectious diseases, mainly viral hepatitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, syphilis, dysentery and scarlet fever.
A total of 601,574 infectious disease cases were reported during the month, Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying.
