PGIMER cancels MD, MS exam after paper leak

Chandigarh, Nov 15 (IANS) The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) here Thursday cancelled the entrance test held for admissions to post−graduate medical courses following the registration of a criminal case over a question paper leak. A fresh test would be held next month. "In the wake of an FIR filed by the CBI and a copy of the same received by the PGI, it was decided by the administration that the entrance examination for January 2013 session which was held on Nov 10 would be scrapped to avoid litigation and other complications," a PGIMER spokesperson said here

Indian media baron funds new scholarship at Oxford

London, 15 Nov (IANS): Raghav Bahl, the Indian media baron who is the founder and managing director of Network18, is funding a new scholarship for academically outstanding Indians to study at the University of Oxford. Bahl, is providing the financial support for one scholarship per year in memory of his father, the late Pran Nath Bahl, university sources told IANS. The scholarship is open to graduate students of Indian nationality who have an outstanding academic background and are taking the one−year MSc in Contemporary India course at the Contemporary South Asian Studies Programme in the University's School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies (SIAS)
