Bishkek, May 5 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Parts of the pilots' bodies have been discovered at the site of Friday's US military plane crash in Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz emergencies ministry said.

"Only the younger of the two brothers, that is to say Dzhokhar, was born in Kyrgyzstan and was a Kyrgyz citizen," Joomart Otorbayev, the first deputy prime minister of the former Soviet republic told US State Department officials during a meeting. The minister said the older of the two brothers, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who died after a car chase and shootout with police, was born in the southern Russian republic of Kalmykia and was a Russian citizen.

His brother, Zhanybek Bakiyev, former head of the state protection service, was sentenced in absentia to life on six charges including mass murder.
Bishkek, Jan 7 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Several hundred residents from the Uzbek enclave of Sokh Sunday attacked a Kyrgyz border guard base, reports said Monday. The residents from the Uzbek village of Khushyar attacked Kyrgyz frontier guards who were erecting supports for electricity transmission lines in Kyrgyzstan's Batken region. The villagers tried to seize firearms from the guards, injuring some in the process.

Bishkek, Oct 13 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Former Kyrgyzstan president Kurmanbek Bakiyev's son has been arrested in London following accusations of grave crimes, the Kyrgyz presidential press service has reported. "Maxim Bakiyev, accused of grave crimes, was arrested in the morning of October 12 by British law enforcement agencies at the requests of Kyrgyzstan and the US," the report said. Under his father's administration Maxim Bakiyev headed the central development, innovation and investment agency.
Bishkek, Sep 28 (IANS/RIA Novosti) A Kyrgyzstan court Friday banned a documentary on gay Muslims from being shown in the country. The film "I'm Gay, I'm Muslim" was submitted as part of the One World International Documentary Film Festival currently underway in the capital city of Bishkek. It reportedly tells the story of gay rights in the Islamic world through the lens of ordinary Moroccans.
